June 10th Update! New Stuff!

Posted on June 11, 2010. Filed under: Uncategorized | Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , |

Hello fellow simmers!

Don’t you hate when real life gets in the way of your Sims3 obsession?

I know I do!

But I have started working full time this summer (a fantastic job, I might add!) however, it has left me little time for updating my blog here!

Fear no more, for I know many of you have been checking back, faithfully, waiting to see what would become of Geoffrey Landgraab and friends…

Now that I have a concrete schedule in place for work, I am almost entirely positive their will be regular updates! (Although, it seems every time I do say that, I fall behind on simming! I don’t want to jinx it!)

I appreciate your continued support in checking in at my blog…I have been reading many of yours! (See the blogroll for my favorites!)

A BRAND SPANKIN’ NEW UPDATE is up! Also, the Prologue has been updated, with pictures!

Please read the next installment, and I can’t wait to hear your feedback!

Happy Simming!

Summer is Here…and so are Updates!

Posted on May 13, 2010. Filed under: Uncategorized | Tags: , , , , , , , , , |

Dear Valued Readers…

School is out for summer, which means I can concentrate so much more on updating. I got a good start on my newest story, and enough feedback to begin developing it…But there was an issue with the saved game on my computer, so I ended up having to start all over again!

I know you all will understand, since the Sims 3 seems to come with a whole host of technical issues! But, I am now pleased as punch to say that I have learned how to back up my game now, and everything is fixed and ready to roll…

So, as soon as I catch up to where I had left off, I can start posting pictures and new story installments. I am so sorry it took so long, but between finals and tech issues, I was having a difficult time!

Come back and see what is in store for Geoffrey’s marriage, young Malcolm, and my personal favorite, Dr. Jamie Jolina!

Happy Simming (and pleasant summer wishes!)

The Delay? I busted my back!

Posted on April 8, 2010. Filed under: What's Good in the 'hood... | Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , |

Dear Readers,

Hello! Why the reason for no update this weekend? Well, on Saturday, I threw out my back at work. Sunday morning it seemed a bit better, so Easter was off to a good start! After Church, my back was out again, so I rested before dinner. Right as I got up to go and pig out at the lovely meal my grandmother had prepared-my back locked up so bad I could not move!

It has been the most painful to sit in a chair-now I am at the point where I sort of lean, or sprawl myself over my chair and desk. School has been incredibly awkward because of this, and obviously, I cannot play the Sims 3 standing up for too long!

But, due to some emergency chiropractor appointments (chiropractor’s are like the Angels of Earth, I am convinced! 😉 ) I am doing better gradually, and hope to get back to simming, and posting, soon!

I will have “The Perfect Storm” story that takes place in Sunset Valley running simultaneously with a Riverview story, “Friends for No Reason” very soon!

I have taken your comments and suggestions in to consideration, and I hope you will all like what you read within the next couple of days!

Happy Simming (and Happy Spring!)

The Prologue is up!

Posted on March 30, 2010. Filed under: What's Good in the 'hood... | Tags: , , , , , , , , , , |

Hello!

One day in advance, I have put up the prologue for my first original Sims 3 story, featuring some familiar faces from Sunset Valley!

Go to the pages section on the home page and click: “The Perfect Storm”-the prologue.

It is essential to read the prologue, and know the backstory, in order to pick up on what is going on with the characters when the beginning of my story (with pictures, of course!) is posted tomorrow!

How do you like the prologue? Does it sound interesting? I would like to hear your thoughts!

On Wednesday: The first update!

Happy Simming!

Check back Wednesday!

Posted on March 29, 2010. Filed under: What's Good in the 'hood... | Tags: , , , , , , , , , , |

So, here is a concrete date: Wednesday the new story “A Perfect Storm” will be up. I wanted to get a little more gameplay in to make the update a sizeable one, so that you all can really get into the new story!

AND, in other news: My game won’t scroll, and EA Tech Support’s advice was to ask the Sims 3 community to help because, SURPRISE! They cannot figure it out! They also decided it would be easier to blame the glitch on CC…to which I replied that I have NO CC except for CC from their official Sims3 Store (That is the truth. I only have official CC, so they cannot try to blame it on me and my downloads, because they are all official! I have heard from other players that seems to be their default answer-to blame it on CC- rather than accept responsibility for game defects themselves!) I would like to hear your thoughts!

Oh, and if anyone is remotely interested in more details on this case, because you want to add more fuel to your own love/hate relationship with EA, check my forum post on the official EA Sims3 site in Technical Issues.

So, I have figured out how to play the game by using the arrow keys. It is a huge pain to not be able to scroll by moving the mouse, and it makes centering photos a nightmare, so please excuse the photography quality for a bit on this site, until the scrolling issues is fixed! (Who am I kidding, EA may never figure it out, but at least I can still play the game, even if scrolling is difficult!)

I can’t complain too much, though, because my new computer runs like a dream, and exceeds the requirements for the game x3, and I never would have been able to afford a new computer remotely close to this one’s quality on my own, so I have to say a major thank-you to my Uncle for passing it along to me, and suprising me with a new graphics card and RAM!

Look for the first post on Wednesday! In advance, I say: I hope you enjoy it!

Happy Simming!

Coming this Weekend…

Posted on March 25, 2010. Filed under: What's Good in the 'hood... | Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , |

Hello!

So, as promised, the very beginning of my first story will be making its debut this weekend! I am attempting to put a unique spin on classic Sims 3 characters that we either love, or love to hate! While the characters of Sunset Valley are iconic to Sims players the world over, their back story’s and their life stories as portrayed on this site will be my own!

The stories will range from lighthearted comedy’s, to romantic drama’s, to life-stories that cover multiple generations

There will also be my own original characters, too, in an ongoing Sims 3 story in Riverview that will be on the blog shortly!

I hope you will like what you read, and add me onto your blogroll’s, so you can keep checking back! Feedback will be appreciated!

So who will be covered first in Sunset Valley? Well, since you asked, (or I am imagining you did! ) my first story is called “The Perfect Storm”, and it is a romantic drama, with a bit of comedy (this is the Sims 3, afterall!) featuring the Landgraab’s, the Alto’s and the Wolff’s, and Jamie Jolina.

So, let the games begin!

Happy Simming!

The First Post…Here’s What’s Up!

Posted on March 22, 2010. Filed under: What's Good in the 'hood... | Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , |

Hello, and welcome to “Secrets of Sunset Valley”( -and Riverview Ramblings!)

This is a brand new site from Aalyah Reed, formally of “Aalyah Reed presents: Sims 3 Stories!” with the stories of Gwen and Holden Wozny, and the beginnings of a Goth Family tale!

So, what is the reason for the new site? You may be asking yourself. Obviouslly, I was not as active and consistant with the last one, after a certain point. Well, that is true, but I blame it all on technical difficulties: EA difficulties, game difficulties, and computer problems! I know all you Sims 3 players sympathize with me on that one!

But… I just got a great new computer that can run the game the way it should be run ! (the last computer running the game was like attempting to travel upstream in a canoe without a paddle, you know the expression) and I really wanted to start a-fresh, with new ideas, and better stories!

The direction, as you can imagine, is circulating through the “famous”, or infamous families and individuals of Sunset Valley, or at least, my original take on the popular characters, as played in my game. I will also be telling you stories that come from my personal favorite, Riverview, which has quite a few new characters to write about!

There is an original story, with my custom characters that will be taking place in Riverview, that I really want to put a lot of work into!

My previous site will no longer be updated, but some stories on it will be continued here! Please adjust your blogroll accordingly, if you have my old blog on there, or add me if you enjoy my work, and I will certainly add your site, too!

Posts will be up after this weekend! Enjoy the new stories, tell your friends, and feed me feedback, because I can’t wait to hear what you think!

Happy Simming!
